As well as giving your windows a beautiful new look without the need for expensive replacement glass, the film will provide an immediately effective privacy solution, blocking the view from both sides of the pane without sacrificing natural light.

The film has been specially developed to let as much light through as possible, in recognition of the fact that one of the main benefits of windows is the daylight that is allowed to pass through and into your home, naturally illuminating your property. The specially developed properties of Frostbrite mean that you will enjoy excellent light transmission and privacy, with the view blocked from both sides of your glass – the only caveat being that outlines or shapes of items placed very close to the filmed glass may be visible.

How to install translucent window film

Installing window film from The Window Film Company is a straightforward process and can be successfully achieved with no prior experience and nothing more than a few standard household items. Each order is supplied with easy to follow printed fitting instructions and comes complete with a free application squeegee to help with the process. You will also find step by step video installation instructions at the bottom of each product page.

To begin the window film fitting, thoroughly clean the window. This is an important first step as it serves to get rid of any dirt or particles on the glass that may impact the installation by remaining between the film and the pane. Once the window is as clean as possible, create a soapy water solution by adding a few drops of washing up liquid to a plant spray bottle full of water. Use the spray bottle to coat the window pane with the solution and then remove the backing sheet from the film and use the spray bottle to cover the exposed surface of the film.

With both the window and the window film covered with water, take the film carefully to the glass and allow it to flow into place. The soapy water will act as a slip solution, allowing you to move the film around on the glass until it is in the exact position you require. Then, use the plastic application squeegee to push all of the remaining water and moisture to the edge of the panel, ensuring a bubble free installation. Use a clean cloth to mop up the excess water and leave the film to cure.
