PRIVACY AND GLARE REDUCTION AT CHESHAM MOOR

Chesham Moor Gym and Lido is a stunning facility in Buckinghamshire, boasting a heated outdoor swimming pool and state of the art gym facilities. The Window Film Company is proud to have completed an installation at the newly refurbished venue, including bespoke manifestation markings, glare reduction film and Reeded glass effect window film.

The Window Film Company was engaged to deliver solutions for a range of locations throughout the facility, including custom created manifestation markings, anti-glare film in the gym and communal areas and EVOKE reeded film to deliver a stylish privacy solution to a glazed storage area.

Manifestation markings are required for one simple but important reason. To make sure that large glass panels (such as glass doors or partitions) are easily visible. Such markings are required by Building Regulations, which dictate that markings must provide a contrast with the background, must be of a minimum size and must be present at specific locations on the glazing.

With the facility having undergone a stunning refurbishment, it was decided that the manifestation markings should be custom made, featuring the company logo. It was created by computer cutting the design in various sizes, using Frostbrite frosted film as the material. Frostbrite, as the name suggests, gives glazing the appearance of frosted glass, making it the perfect choice for manifestation as it delivers the necessary contrast. It can also be printed onto or cut to deliver a unique appearance – in this case the Chesham Moor logo.

Elsewhere in the facility, glare reduction window film was applied to upper panes of glass to help alleviate the effects of glare, which was making the internal environment potentially uncomfortable for visitors and gym users. The window film used reduced glare by filtering out the harshest off the light, without blocking the view from the inside out. Think of the film as a light pair of sunglasses for windows!

The final element of the project was the application of EVOKE reeded window film to two glazed doors of a storage room. Reeded glass continues to enjoy a remarkable resurgence in popularity, with the retro chic appearance proving super desirable in a range of settings, delivering both privacy and a stylish new look.
