The Window Film Company provides a range of privacy solutions, with printed Frostbrite film an increasingly popular choice. This was the option selected by a North London school, with a bespoke privacy film created and installed alongside a quantity of safety film.
Frostbrite frosted film from The Window Film Company is popular for a number of reasons. Its primary purpose is to deliver privacy, and this is achieved by giving the glass the appearance of sandblasted or acid-etched glazing once applied. This prevents vision from both sides of the glass, whilst also delivering a stylish and contemporary finish. In addition to the aesthetic qualities of the film, it is tough and durable, making it suitable for usage in high traffic areas. The Window Film Company can cut Frostbrite to create custom designs and patterns, but using state of the art print technology, it is also possible to print onto the surface of the film, creating a bright and impressive feature or design element.
The Window Film Company were approached to deliver a bespoke privacy solution for a North London based school, and after providing demonstrations of what could be achieved, it was chosen as the most suitable material. The brief was twofold; to block vision from both sides of the glass, whilst also creating an attractive, branded feature.
The artwork, featuring a striking photograph and the school logo was supplied to The Window Film Company’s in-house graphics and design team who created detailed proofs of each of the windows. With approval granted, work began on printing the panels, the use of a UV printer ensuring a sharp, crisp finish.
In addition to the printed Frostbrite, the school had identified a number of panes that they wanted to reinforce with safety film. Available in a range of thicknesses and finishes, safety and security film works by holding the glass together in the event of accidental or malicious damage. This prevents the shards of broken glass from falling away from the frame and causing damage or injury. The film chosen on this occasion was a clear product, serving to provide added safety and protection without obscuring the view from either side of the glazing.
Both the printed Frostbrite and security film was installed by one of The Window Film Company’s teams of fully qualified installation teams, with the work carried out during a pre-determined window of time, chosen to ensure the minimum of disruption to what is a busy school. Unlike other products such as solar control films, which are designed to help manage solar heat and glare and harmful UV rays, safety window film is fitted to stabilise the glass panel it is applied to, and in the case of this School, if it is damaged or broken, help contain the broken glass pieces and prevent flying glass pieces from injuring the School's pupils.
The printed graphics instantly transformed the appearance of the glass, creating a stylish, welcoming and professional looking finish – a pleasing sight for visitors, pupils and staff alike.
