The Window Film Company offers high quality window films to reduce heat and glare, with experienced and fully qualified teams of installers fitting film to commercial and residential properties throughout the Country.
Glare can be a year round issue, with sunlight passing through glass at various angles throughout the day – even during the winter. This can be a serious problem, especially for shops and restaurants, where it is important to ensure a comfortable environment for visitors and customers. It is for this reason that The Window Film Company was engaged to provide and install a glare reduction solution at a Buckinghamshire based branch of Starbucks.
The busy branch was experiencing an issue that saw sunlight shining through the top panes of the fully glazed premises, with the angle of the light sometimes making it uncomfortable for both members of staff and customers to focus.
After discussions with the client, it was agreed that a product from The Window Film Company’s Optiview range of solar control and glare reduction films would be the most suitable solution. Optiview window films have been specially developed to deliver a lower level of internal reflectivity, minimizing the aesthetic impact on the inside face of the glass – an important consideration in this instance.
During daylight hours, the external facing side of the film will take on a reflective appearance, serving to deliver excellent heat reduction. Optiview 15 was the film chosen for this project, and this delivers a solar energy reduction level of up to 75%. In addition, the film rejects up to 99% of UV light – in turn, entirely cutting out the single biggest contributing factor to fading.
In terms of glare, Optiview 15 is hugely effective, reducing glare by up to 75%, providing year round respite from the issues and discomfort it can cause.
The film was installed to 20 panes of glass across the top of the glazed frontage; fitted by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert installers. Once in place, the film was effective immediately, serving to cut down on unwanted glare without blocking the daytime view, drastically changing the look of the glass on the inside, or making the interior feel unnecessarily dark.
