The Window Film Company supply and install high quality window films that deliver year-round benefits such as glare reduction, UV protection and solar control for the warmer months. One of the most popular films in this category is High Reflective Silver, and it’s this product that was chosen for an installation at a property near Birmingham.
High Reflective Silver from The Window Film Company delivers excellent levels of heat reduction (up to 78%) UV light rejection (up to 99%) as well as glare reduction (up to 79%). During daylight hours, the film exhibits a reflective, silver appearance on the external face of the glass, meaning that it is also suitable for a daytime one-way privacy solution.
The film works on the balance of light, meaning that it is the side of the film that is exposed to the brightest light level that takes on the reflective appearance. During the day, this is almost always the external facing side, blocking the view from the outside in, while allowing vision from the inside out.
As well as daytime one-way privacy, the reflective element of the film also serves to reduce the amount of excess heat entering through glass, in turn helping to keep temperatures at a more moderate level during the summer months. This is achieved by the film reflecting away a percentage of the sun’s energy instead of allowing it to pass through the glass and adding to the internal temperature. By bouncing away a percentage of heat, the film can help maintain a more enjoyable internal temperature, without making the room feeling unnecessarily cold.
The film has also been specially developed to reduce glare, which can be a year round problem. Even if the weather is not warm, sunlight can enter through glass at awkward angles, making it uncomfortable to focus. The film acts like a pair of sunglasses for glazing, reducing glare by up to 79%, while still allowing for a view out.
Did you know that UV rays are the single biggest contributing factor to fading? UV light combines with visible light and heat to cause fade damage, so by blocking up to 99% of Ultra Violet Light, this film helps to mitigate against possible fading.
The film was fitted throughout the property by a team of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and vastly experienced installers, with the window film effective as soon as it was in place. The reflective appearance of the film fitted perfectly with the look of the property, with all of the benefits delivered without blocking the daytime view from the inside out or sacrificing high levels of natural light.
