FROSTED BANDS FOR COLLEGE MANIFESTATION

The Window Film Company supplies and installs window films for use in a range of situations, delivering a whole host of solutions for both commercial and residential use. This project necessitated the application of Frostbrite frosted film to meet manifestation requirements at a College in Essex.

Manifestation markings are required as part of Building Regulations and are necessary to ensure that glass is easily visible. They are usually needed for large pieces of glazing such as glass partitions and doors, and need to be placed at specific locations on the panel to ensure that they are easily visible to the naked eye.



Manifestation markings are particularly vital in busy locations such as schools and Colleges, with pupils and staff constantly moving around the buildings. With this in mind it was decided that for this project, a band of Frostbrite frosted film would be used - an immediately obvious, clear yet also stylish way of making sure the glass was visible.



The configuration of the building meant that access to the inside face of the glass wasn’t possible, so for the majority of the installation, access equipment was needed to allow the installers to fit the film to the external face of the glass.



Frostbrite frosted window film gives glass the appearance of acid-etched or sandblasted glazing, providing the contrast required by manifestation guidelines, in a contemporary and professional looking way. It blocks the view from both sides of the glass, so also delivers a privacy solution, and does so without blocking high levels of natural light, ensuring a pleasant internal environment.



The film was applied to glazing across two floors of the large facility, with The Window Film Company’s fully trained installers using powered access equipment to reach the necessary panes.

Once in place, the appropriate manifestation requirements were met, with the glass transformed to feature stylish frosted bands.
