Fading can be a particular concern for properties with large expanses of glazing, such as shopfronts. Shopfronts are an important, integral part of stores, providing the retailer with the opportunity to showcase products and displays, but without protection, items in the window are liable to fade damage. Clear UV window film from The Window Film Company is a popular and widely used solution.

As the name suggests, Clear UV is an optically clear window film, designed to be virtually undetectable when applied to glass, with the primary function being to filter out UV rays. The film has been specially developed to filter out up to 99% of the sun’s UV rays, all while being virtually invisible – a key consideration for retailers who use their shop window for displays.

The Window Film Company were approached by the owners of a card shop in Warwick, who wanted a fade protection solution for their High Street store. The shop boasts two large display windows and a window film was needed to mitigate against potential fade damage.

It was agreed that Clear UV was the appropriate solution, with the film blocking 99% of UV, while allowing an uninterrupted view to the inside of the shop and any window displays.

With an appropriate installation date agreed between the client and The Window Film Company’s operations team, before the installation was completed by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert installers, applying the Clear UV film to over 6 square metres of glass, split into four large panes.

The result was an undetectable layer of protection that was effective immediately, achieved without impacting on the appearance of the storefront.
