COLOURFUL CONTRA VISION

The Window Film Company utilises state-of-the-art print equipment, computer cutting technology and a range of high-quality printable media to deliver graphics for a range of situations and locations. By using specialist Contra Vision it’s possible to create stunning one-way graphics displays, such as the eye-catching window decoration installed at this school.

The Window Film Company was contacted by a school, who wanted to add privacy to one of their small buildings. The brief required the outside of the glass to feature bright, colourful graphics that prevented a direct view inside, while allowing a view from the inside out.



After discussions about the potential solutions, it was a greed that using Contra Vision film would be the best way of delivering he desired effect - a colourful display that didn’t block the view from the inside out.



Contra Vision is a perforated film, and it’s this design that delivers the one-way vision. The side that is printed (in this case with a bright, custom created underwater scene) appears to be solid - the eye focuses on the larger, printed display, while on the reverse, which isn’t printed, the eye is drawn to the perforations, automatically focussing on the view through the repeated holes and enabling a view through the film.

The view from the inside is shown below for a clearer indication of how the film looks from the inside looking out.



The project comprised 8 large panels, and each one was printed by The Window Film Company’s in house print and graphics team; printed using state of the art wide format print technology, before being computer cut to ensure each panel was exactly the right size, with the design flowing perfectly from one panel to the next.



The film was installed by a team of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and vastly experienced fitters, delivering a stunning, professional looking and welcoming display to the exterior of the building, while still delivering the required view from the inside out.
