GREAT GLASS GRAPHICS

Using state of the art printers and computer cutting equipment, The Window Film Company can create and install branded window film for glass, delivering a stylish and professional new look for glazing.

Printed graphics can also be used to meet manifestation marking requirements, doing so in a way that meets the conditions set out in building regulations while also adding a stylish new design element to glass. That was the aim of this project, carried out in an office in Essex.

Manifestation markings are essentially required to make glass easily visible. They are a safety feature, required on large panels of glass – typically glazed doors, partitions or other floor to ceiling glazing. Building regulations set out a number of requirements when it comes to manifestation markings, with the key ones being that the markings should provide a clear contrast with the background, be a minimum size, and be present at specific locations on the glass.

The Window Film Company has vast experience in delivering manifestation solutions of all types, with a dedicated print and graphics team able to create everything from simple dots, squares and solid bands to custom created, unique graphics, branding, text and imagery. This project saw the combining of a number of different film types and techniques, coming together to deliver a functional yet impressive finish.

The first part of the installation saw a band of Frostbite frosted film applied to the lower part of the glass partitions. Frostbite is designed to give glazing the look of acid-etched or sandblasted glass when in place, serving to deliver privacy in an aesthetically pleasing way. This film also provides and excellent surface on which to print, and on this occasion, the decision was made to print the name of the organisation onto the frosted film.

The second part of the project saw the company logo printed and then computer cut to create a stand alone logo above the frosted band. This combination of films meant that not only were manifestation requirements met, but an element of privacy was delivered for those inside the room, while the custom created graphics provided an extra element of branded style.

The films were installed by a team of The Window Film Company’s vastly experienced fitters, with he work taking place on a date agreed in advance by The Window Film Company’s dedicated Operations Team.
