SAFETY WINDOW FILM FOR LONDON HOME

Glass can be a delicate material, susceptible to accidental or malicious damage. This project saw it applied by a team of The Window Film Company’s installers to over 100 panes throughout an extensive Greater London home.

Broken glass is a serious issue. It can cause injury; it can be used to gain unlawful access to property and can also be a time consuming and expensive process to replace. Safety window film from The Window Film Company can help mitigate these instances.

Safety film is available in a range of different thicknesses, with specialist bomb-blast protection film also available, with advanced attachment systems used to deliver the highest level of protection possible. The film used for this project was 100 Micron Clear safety film, which as the name suggests and pictures illustrate is virtually undetectable once in place.

This film works by giving glass an invisible extra layer of strength that in the first instance provides an element of protection, helping to prevent accidental damage. The film also provides a vitally important benefit in the case of glass breaking. If the worst does happen and glazing breaks, the films serve to hold the glass together in the frame, instead of letting it form into shards and to fall in on itself. This ensures that the broken glass doesn’t provide an immediate threat in terms of causing injury, while also making it much harder to gain unlawful access if the glass is broken with malicious intent.

This protection is delivered without blocking the view or natural light and also provides an extra benefit by blocking 90% of the sun’s potentially harmful UV rays – the single biggest contributing factor to fading.

The safety window film was installed to a total of 166 panes throughout the property, with each piece applied to the internal face of the glass by a team of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and vastly installed fitters.
