Adding custom created manifestation to glass can deliver a number of stylish benefits, including meeting manifestation requirements, adding an element of added decoration or branding and also providing privacy. This print and installation project provides the perfect example.
Manifestation markings are required to ensure that glass of a certain size (usually floor to ceiling panels such as glass doors or partitions) are easily visible, in turn avoiding potentially painful and damaging accidents.
These markings are required by Building Regulations (full details here) and must be of a minimum size, present at specific points on the glass and must also provide a contrast with the background to deliver on their primary purpose of being easy to see with the naked eye.
A popular window film for use as manifestation is Frostbrite frosted window film from The Window Film Company. Not only does the frost effect provide a stylish way of providing the contrast required, it is also long lasting and durable, making it perfect for use in high traffic areas such as in corridors or on glass doors. It also can be printed on or, as in this instance, cut to create designs or branding.
An additional benefit of using Frostbrite is that it blocks the view from both sides of the glass, so by applying a band of Frostbrite to glass it is straightforward to achieve manifestation requirements while also delivering an element of privacy.
To deliver an element of custom style, this project saw logos cut from the Frostbrite film, using artwork provided by the client. Each panel was created using state of the art computer cutting technology by the Window Film Company’s in-house print and graphics team, before being installed throughout the premises by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert window film fitters.
