Glass frontages are a very important part of the premises for shops and retailers. The windows provide an opportunity to entice customers, to showcase the store and to feature signage and branding. Simply put, when it comes to shopfronts, the windows are vital. So is protecting them.
Damage to glass can occur in a number of ways. Its fragile nature means that it can crack accidentally, can be broken with malicious or criminal intent or permanently defaced by graffiti, scouring or scratching. Depending on the severity of the damage, replacement glass can be required which is both disruptive and expensive. Of all these scenarios, graffiti damage is a common and costly occurrence. Specialist anti-graffiti window film from The Window Film Company provides a cost-effective and high-performance solution.
Anti-graffiti window film from The Window Film Company is a tough, optically clear window film that is applied to the exterior face of glass. The film is clear, so doesn’t have an impact on the appearance of the glass, but does have a specially created coating that in the event of spray painting or other ink-based graffiti, makes the unwanted markings easier to remove. In the event of more serious damage such as scouring or scratching, the film acts as a sacrificial barrier, protecting the glass from permanent damage. In this instance, the film can be removed and replaced, a far more straightforward and less costly and time-consuming alternative to having to replace glass.
This film was utilised by a London based gun shop, with The Window Film Company engaged to apply the film to five large windows, with each window comprising numerous smaller panes. Each piece was cut on site by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert installers, ensuring a perfect fit for each section of film. Once in place, the film immediately began to provide an invisible, but important and valuable protective layer, mitigating against the time consuming and costly effects of graffiti and vandalism.
