The Window Film Company is proud to have an in-house print and graphics department, using high quality, wide-format printers and state-of-the-art computer cutting machinery to deliver stunning, full-colour graphics for use on a whole host of surfaces.
This project called on that expertise for the delivery of a stylish, graphics-lead manifestation solution throughout an office in Greater London.
Manifestation markings are a requirement under Building Regulations and are necessary on glass of a certain size – usually floor to ceiling panels such as partitions or doors – to ensure that they are easily visible. Regulations dictate that the markings must be of a specific size, must be present in specific locations on the glass and must provide a contrast with the background and more details can be found here. While these requirements need to be adhered to, manifestation can provide an opportunity to get creative and to use the need for markings to add stylish, eye-catching graphics to glass.
The Window Film Company is able to create graphics in a number of different ways. For this project it was agreed that the design would be brought to life by cutting the pattern from Frostbrite frosted window film. Frostbrite is a popular choice for manifestation as it gives glass the appearance of frosted glazing when applied, in turn adding the necessary contrast between the glass and the background – one of the key requirements of manifestation markings. It can also be printed onto, or as in this case, cut to create patterns.
The client provided The Window Film Company’s graphics team with the custom created design artwork which allowed for the pattern to be precision cut at the exact sizes required, from Frostbrite frosted film. Having been computer cut, each piece was then checked by hand before being installed by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert fitters.
Once in place, the frosted film added a striking geometric design to the glass, with the positioning of the film meaning that manifestation requirements were met, while also creating a stylish, professional appearance.
