PRIVACY AND NEW LOOK FOR NURSERY

The Window Film Company has completed the print and installation of a striking set of bespoke graphics at a South London nursery. Required as a privacy solution, the printed window film served to block the view while providing the large facility with a bright and welcoming appearance.

The Window Film Company offers a range of privacy window films, each with a different look and performance. These range from window film for one-way daytime privacy, to solid colour vinyls, to one of the most popular window films for privacy - Frostbrite frosted film.

Once applied to the glass, Frostbrite gives glass the appearance of acid etched or sandblasted glazing; a stylish, contemporary effect that blocks the view from both sides of the glass while delivering a pleasing finish - all without sacrificing high levels of natural light.

One of the other benefits of Frostbrite frosted window film is that it provides the perfect surface on which to print, in turn delivering a bespoke privacy solution. The Window Film Company were contacted by the owners of a successful nurser facility in South London, with a view to making use of this precise solution.

The nursery benefits from large banks of glazing throughout, with floor to ceiling windows across two sides of the building. While this glass is beneficial in terms of appearance and the presence of welcome levels of natural light, there is also a privacy issue - the nature of the business is childcare, and as such it’s important that people walking past the building cannot see in.

The owners of the nursery commissioned a specially created set of bright, vibrant graphics, designed to flow seamlessly from pane to pane throughout the different rooms in the nursery. These graphics were to be printed onto Frostbrite frosted film, providing a bright, vibrant and fun internal appearance, while also blocking the view from the outside in, without reducing natural light and also giving the external face of the building a welcoming, professional and stylish new look.

An initial site survey was undertaken by The Window Film Company, allowing for accurate measurements of each pane to be taken as well as the gaps between each window. this detail allowed The Window Film Company’s print and graphics team to print the graphics at the perfect size, taking into account the gaps to ensure that the stunning design flowed perfectly from pane to pane.

Each panel was printed and then computer cut to the exact sizes required; the state of the art printing and cutting equipment ensuring the best possible finish and accurate sizing. The film was then applied throughout the nursery by a team of The Window Film Company’s installers.

The end product saw the nursery transformed - the windows delivered privacy but also added a bright, colourful, welcoming and fun internal appearance, helping to create a pleasant environment for the staff and children.
