The Window Film Company is proud to have completed an installation of safety window film at the world-famous Old Vic Theatre in London.
Originally established in 1818, The Old Vic is a stunning 1,000 seater theatre near Waterloo and has played host to countless memorable performances from some of the best known names in the industry. It was therefore a privilege for The Window Film Company to be asked to deliver a project that saw the removal and replacement of safety window film throughout the venue.
Safety window film from The Window Film Company is a high-performance product, designed to ensure glass meets safety standards, by making sure that if glass does break (either as a result of malicious or accidental damage) then it does so in a safe fashion. This is achieved by holding the glass together in the event of breakage, holding the pane together instead of the glass shattering into numerous dangerous shards.
While safety film from The Window Film Company is available in a number of grades and finishes, the most frequently used product, and the film used for this project, is clear in appearance, meaning it is virtually undetectable once in position. This makes it the ideal choice for premises that require the protection provided by safety film with an unchanged visual aesthetic.
The existing film was removed before being replaced with specialist safety window film by a team of The Window Film Company’s skilled and vastly experienced installers, with each piece of film carefully cut to fit each different pane perfectly. Film was applied throughout the stunning building, including in backstage and rehearsal areas as well as across the famous and impressive theatre frontage.
The work was completed at specific times, agreed between the theatre and The Window Film Company’s dedicated operations team, with the timings agreed to ensure the film was in place for the theatre’s reopening. With the project complete, all of the glazing was upgraded to feature brand new, high performance safety window film, without altering the appearance of the glass in any way, allowing the theatre to retain it’s stylish and attractive appearance throughout.
