SAFETY FILM FOR SHOWER SCREENS

Jan 29 2021

The Window Film Company has completed the installation of safety window film to 122 shower screens throughout a large hotel in London.

The project was required to give an extra layer of protection to the shower screens, ensuring increased resilience and an invisible layer of protection against accidental damage.

Safety window film is available from The Window Film Company in a number of different grades, thicknesses and finishes, providing a wide range of solutions from protecting against accidental breakage all the way up to bomb-blast protection.

The exact performance level of safety window film will depend on the type chosen, but the basic premise remains the same. Once applied, safety window film will provide the glass with an extra layer of protection, while also serving to hold the glass together in the event of accidental or malicious breakage. By holding broken glass together, it will prevent dangerous, sharp shards falling in on themselves, leading to potential damage or injury.

In the case of this project, the film was being applied to glass that was already toughened, meaning that breakage was already very unlikely, with the film instead serving to provide an added layer of protection and peace of mind.

The film was installed to both sides of the shower screens in 122 of the hotel’s spacious rooms, spread across four floors. The work was completed by several of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and vastly experienced installation teams, whose commitment to a perfect finish and attention to detail meant that upon installation, the film was virtually undetectable to the naked eye.

Once in place, the film was effective immediately, providing an invisible, long-lasting and durable layer of protection.
