UNIQUE AND STYLISH MANIFESTATION

The Window Film company has completed the print and install of stunning, custom made graphics to create manifestation markings at a premises on London’s world-famous Oxford Street.

Manifestation is required for a simple reason; to make glass visible and to avoid accidents. It also provides an opportunity for creating a stylish new look for glass, a chance to add signage or graphics and the possibility of making glazing unique and memorable. This project saw the client embracing all of these options!

Manifestation is required on glazing of a certain size (usually floor to ceiling glass) and is necessary (under building regulations) at certain points on the pane. The material used must provide a contrast between the glass and the background and must also be of a minimum size. These stipulations are easy to meet, manifestation legislation can be adhered to with something as simple as a row of frosted dots or a simple frosted band.

On this project, the glass in question was located at the entrance of each storey of the sizeable complex and the decision was made to use the manifestation markings to provide a stylishly designed, full size sign, indicating the number of the floor.  The design involved a floor to ceiling sized number (corresponding with the floor number and ranging from 2-7) alongside an intricate floral inspired pattern.

The detailed nature of the design meant it was agreed to create the manifestation by printing onto optically clear window film. By using state of the art print technology, the Window Film Company can recreate designs in perfect detail and can recreate the appearance of stylish frosted film – perfect for providing the contrast necessary for manifestation markings. By printing onto optically clear film it is possible to recreate even the most detailed and intricate of patterns, with only the printed area visible when the film is installed.

Each of the 11 panels was over 2 metres in height and was printed by The Window Film company’s in-house print and graphics team, with each section computer cut to ensure a perfect finish. As with every creation, all 11 pieces were checked by hand before being despatched for installation by a team of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and vastly experienced fitters.

The work was completed on a date organised by The Window Film Company’s dedicated operations team; an important part of the business whose role it is to deal with the logistics of each and very install. Once in place, the graphics looked superb, serving to meet manifestation requirements, providing floor signage and also giving the glass a unique, striking and professional new look.
