Graphics for glass are an incredibly powerful way of delivering a message. Glazing can provide the perfect canvas for showcasing branding, displaying signage or simply for creating a memorable and eye-catching decorative feature. The Window Film Company specializes in the creation and installation of creative and stylish designs, with cut graphics remaining a popular and striking choice.
A Hertfordshire based business contacted The Window Film Company with a view to adding branding to their glass partitions, which run throughout the office. The graphics were required to meet manifestation requirements and to give the office a professional and stylish new look – a solution was sought that would meet both requirements.
Manifestation markings are essentially a safety feature and are required on glass of a certain size (usually floor to ceiling panels) to make sure they are easily visible to the naked eye. By placing these markings on glass, the glass is clearly discernible and is less likely to cause accidents. Legislation dictates that these markings must be of a minimum size, present at specific points on the glass and should contrast with the background. As long as these stipulations are met, glass manifestation can take on any appearance, providing an opportunity to be creative and to use a legal necessity to deliver an extra element of style to premises.
The office owners took the decision to use the manifestation requirement to add a brand-lead element of design to the glass partitions, with three different logos to feature across the glazing.
With an understanding of the brief, it was possible to recommend that the project be completed using Frostbrite frosted window film. Once applied, Frostbrite frosted film gives glazing the look of etched glass or sandblasted glazing, a stylish and contemporary way of achieving privacy without blocking natural light.
These properties make Frostbrite frosted window film a very popular privacy solution, especially as it has the added benefit of being the perfect material from which to recreate graphics. Frostbrite film is a perfect surface on which to print, but it can also be computer cut to deliver perfectly recreated precision cut graphics. This was the desired method for this project, with the three logos to be cut from the film, delivering a subtle yet impactful and stylish way of displaying branding throughout the office.
The artwork was supplied along with the sizes of each panel, allowing The Window Film Company’s dedicated graphics team to work on creating each panel. State of the art computer cutting technology was used to cut the appropriate design on each panel before each was checked and finished by hand to ensure a perfect finish.
The glass film was then fitted by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert installers, who were able to complete the fitting with the minimum of fuss and disruption to what is a very busy office.
The end product saw manifestation requirements met and the glass partitions in the premises upgraded with a professional and impressive new look.
