Reflective one way vision privacy window film installation

Achieving privacy in a property with a large number of windows can prove tricky. Pulling curtains or blinds during the day is counterintuitive; both options block the view and the light, completely negating the positives that windows provide. Privacy window film from The Window Film Company provides the ideal solution.

The owner of a fabulous home in Nottingham contacted The Window Film Company for help after realizing the family home required an element of added privacy. A key element of the brief was to ensure that the view from the inside out was maintained, that natural light was still allowed to pass through the glass and that the film should provide an aesthetically pleasing finish, in keeping with the stylish exterior of the property.

It was agreed that High Reflective Silver was the perfect product for this project. This high-performance film works by delivering a sleek, reflective external appearance during daylight hours, giving glass the appearance of a polished mirror; in turn blocking the view from the outside in. The film has been specially developed to allow excellent levels of natural light to pass though it and the glass, also allowing for a view from the inside out.

In addition to an effective daytime privacy solution, the film delivers additional benefits. During warmer months of the year, the film will ensure a more moderate internal temperature by reducing the amount of excess heat that is allowed to enter the room. This is achieved as the film will reflect away a percentage of the sun’s energy before it enters the room; once again a far more effective solution than curtains and blinds. Once installed the film will also drastically reduce glare; a year-round problem and will filter out harmful UV rays – one of the premier causes of fading.

The internal layout of the property meant that an internal application of window film wasn’t possible. This wasn’t an issue as an external version of the same film is available. An access tower was constructed at the property and used by one of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and vastly experienced fitting teams to install the film to nine large window panes.

Once installed, the film was effective immediately, delivering daytime one-way privacy while delivering an aesthetic in keeping with the stylish exterior of the property. The owner could also relax, safe in the knowledge that during the summer months, the property will be kept at an enjoyable temperature, glare will be at a minimum and that belongings and furniture were protected from the fading process.
