Amps fine wines have been operating since 1901, running wine tasting events, lessons and of course, selling high quality wines to customers. The frontage to their premises features several full length windows, giving the property a sleek, contemporary appearance, providing customers a view inside and allowing for lots of natural light.
The glazing also meant that fading was a problem.
Fading is a common issue and is caused by three main factors; UV rays, light and heat. Of these, it is the UV rays that are the biggest contributor. The majority of solar control window film supplied by The Window Film Company will block around 99% of UV, helping to considerably slow down the fading process.
Amps required a solution that was going to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the property, while also delivering high performance fade protection. The film chosen was Climate 70, a film specially developed to deliver a more neutral appearance when applied to the glass, while still providing excellent results.
The film choice was confirmed after testing a number of different samples, applying each to the glass in question and observing the results in different conditions. A time and date for the work was agreed between the client and The Window Film Company’s dedicated Operations team, making sure that the job was carried out a time that would cause the minimum of disruption.
The film was fitted to a total of six large panels, and once installed was effective immediately. The UV reduction and solar control elements of the film serving to not only mitigate against fading, but also to help reduce the build-up of excess heat in the premises. The film also reduces glare, resulting in a more comfortable internal environment all round. The appearance of Climate 70 also meant that the stylish exterior look of the property was maintained.
With the valuable stock now protected, the client could continue to do what they’ve been doing for over a century without the fear of fading. We’ll drink to that!
