The Window Film Company has been involved in filming of a different type recently, totally transforming a vacant office premises into an eye-catching set for an upcoming TV drama.

The show is set in a representation of heaven, and The Window Film Company was engaged to help create the other-worldly aesthetic required from the show’s producers. This required the application of window film to a total of 130 large panes of glass, delivering not only the required look, but privacy too.

After discussions with the production team it was agreed that Frostbrite frosted film was the product most likely to meet the criteria and samples were supplied for consideration. Once applied, Frostbrite gives glazing the appearance of acid-etched or sandblasted glass, preventing the view from both sides of the glass without sacrificing natural light.

Upon testing the film it quickly became apparent that it delivered the look, privacy and overall atmosphere that was required, and the OK was given to proceed.

Before installation could commence, existing, redundant film had to be removed from a number of the panes. With this film stripped, each pane could be cleaned and the film applied. With the majority of panes over a metre in width and almost 2 metres in height and 130 panels to be installed, it was an extensive piece of work that was undertaken over a number of days.

With a strict filming schedule in place it was vital that the window film was applied in plenty of time, with the project also entailing the products removal at the conclusion of the shoot.

As the Frostbrite film was applied, the office was steadily transformed into a location with a completely different look and feel, until eventually each of the panels was fully covered. The installation was completed ahead of schedule, allowing the TV crew to begin the exciting part of filming the show, which is due to be aired in 2018.
