Frostbrite frosted window film by The Window Film Company is a stylish way of delivering privacy for glass, so when a popular London bar and restaurant required a solution for a glazed roof area, The Window Film Company was approached to deliver.
The glazed section was situated over a bar area, taking the form of a large roof-light, with privacy required to prevent vision in from surrounding buildings. The glass did have an existing product on it, but it had been in place for some time and had also been damaged by building works carried out nearby. This meant that as well as not delivering the necessary levels of privacy, it was also looking unsightly.
The job was therefore twofold, to remove the existing product and to replace it with Frostbrite frosted film.
The task was made slightly more complicated by the fact that internal access tot he glass wasn’t possible. Usually an internal application is preferable, simply because it delivers a longer period of functionality (the film isn’t exposed to the elements), but in situations such as this, The Window Film Company has the expertise and experience to deliver an alternative.
Organising a suitable time and date for the work to take place was an important part of the project. Timing was vital for the business owners as they were very keen to ensure the minimum of fuss and disruption. This and the other logistical considerations were organised by The Window Film Company’s Operations team, allowing the work to take place at a time that would work for the owners.
As part of the planning process, a site survey was undertaken, allowing the team to understand exactly what equipment would be required to gain access and what time the work would have to commence to meet the completion deadline of midday - the time that the lunch service would commence below.
On the day, a team of The Window Film Company’s experienced installers were able to carefully remove the existing, degraded and damaged product from the glass and replace it with the brand new window film on 18 large panels.
The work was completed well in advance of the noon deadline and with the new film applied, the glass took on a smart and stylish new appearance - the Frostbrite frosted film immediately giving the glazing the look of sandblasted or acid-etched glass.
The project was completed with no disruption to the operation of the business and the Window Film Company team were well on their way to their next job by the time the first diners of the day sat down to enjoy their lunch.
