MAKE THE MOST OF MANIFESTATION

Printed graphics are a great way of adding a bespoke element of style to your glazing. Full colour printed film can be used to meet manifestation requirements, deliver privacy, add a decorative flourish – or maybe all three! That’s the beauty and versatility of window film…

This particular example utilised a printed graphic to meet this exact trio of needs, using a bespoke city skyline design to create an impressive and stylish manifestation solution, provide an element of privacy and to give the glazing an eye-catching and professional new look.

The graphic was printed onto several panels of Frostbrite frosted window film, a long lasting and durable product that gives the appearance of acid etched or sand blasted glass when applied. Once on the glass, the graphic provided an interesting visual appearance and, with another frosted band on the lower half of the glass, ensured those inside the room were afforded privacy. The application of film also meant that manifestation requirements were met.

Manifestation is a legal requirement for glazing of a certain height. It is a regulation that requires markings to be placed at strategic locations in order to make sure the glass is visible. The markings must be of a suitable contrast to the background, ensuring that they are easily definable by the naked eye – in turn stopping people from accidentally walking into what otherwise may be difficult to detect glass.

While the location of manifestation is set out in the regulations, as long as a minimum size is met, the appearance of the marking can be decided by the end user, making it the perfect opportunity to get creative, incorporate branding, add signage or create an impressive visual display.

The graphics were printed using state of the art UV print technology, ensuring a perfect reproduction of the design. Each panel was then checked and finished by hand before being installed by one of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified fitting teams.

The end result was a stylish, bespoke display that gave the office a professional and interesting feel, while also meeting manifestation and privacy requirements.
