High Reflective Silver is a popular choice for privacy, serving to block the view from the outside, whilst maintaining visibility from the inside out. The film is effective during daylight hours, as the film itself works on the light balance – it is the side of the film that is exposed to the greater light levels that appears reflective. This means that throughout the day, the external face of the glass takes on a silver, mirrored appearance, preventing vision into the property.
The benefit of the film is that not only does it allow for a daytime view from the inside out, it also allows for high levels of natural light to pass through the glass, meaning privacy is achieved without sacrificing the enjoyable environment that natural light delivers.
The film was applied to just under 50 individual panes of various sizes, with the product installed to the internal face of the glass. By installing to the inside of the glazing, the longest possible effective life for the product is ensured and whilst an external version of the film is available, an internal application is always sought when possible. Each section of film was carefully prepared and installed on site, with care taken to ensure that each of the 49 panes was finished perfectly. The project encompassed five exclusive new homes and a high end finish was absolutely vital.
With the install complete, the privacy film was effective immediately, blocking the view from the busy pavement. As well as privacy, the film delivers additional benefits including glare reduction and helping to mitigate against fading. High Reflective Silver blocks up to 99% of the sun’s harmful UV rays – one of the biggest contributing factors to fading and once installed it helps protect upholstery, furnishings and flooring from sun damage.
