ON TARGET WITH WALLPAPER

Printed digital wallpaper from The Window Film Company is the perfect way to cover surfaces of all sizes in a variety of locations and we were proud to recently complete an eye-catching installation at the training ground of Watford Football Club.

Having printed and applied graphics to the complex wall previously, The Window Film Company was engaged to create replacement versions, featuring updated graphics - most notably the recently updated kit that the team are wearing during this Premier League season.

The project involved the printing of new large format graphics, work that was carried out by The Window Film Company’s in-house print and design team. The designs were provided by the Football Club and printed using state of the art print technology, to deliver perfect quality print and vivid colour and detail.

With the print prepared, the second element of the work was to remove the previous application of graphics. Digital wallpaper is incredibly durable and long lasting, but can also be removed without causing damage to the surface underneath. A team of The Window Film Company’s fully trained and vastly qualified installers set about removing the unwanted display, working carefully and methodically to ensure that the work was completed quickly whilst also leaving the original surface in a suitable state for a replacement application.

Both the stripping and the application necessitated the use of scaffolding, as much of the graphics were well above floor level. All of The Window Film Company’s installation staff are fully trained for working at height, including being qualified in the use of powered access systems if necessary. With the previous application removed, the new graphics were installed - the paste-free application process of digital wallpaper meaning that whilst the job needed to be carried out very carefully, it could be installed with the minimum of fuss and extra materials.

The work was carried out to a very strict deadline. The training ground complex is a vital base for the club, playing host to not only the players on a daily basis, but also meetings and media commitments, so it was vital that the installation took place at a time that didn’t disrupt any of these important activities. By working closely with the Club, The Window Film Company’s Operations Team were able to agree on an appropriate date and time to carry out the work, which delivered a fresh new look for the complex without impacting on any of the day to day commitments of the club.
