FOOTBALL SHIRT FRIDAY

Apr 22 2016

Staff from The Window Film Company have supported Cancer Research UK by taking part in the annual “Football Shirt Friday” charity event.

The initiative was launched to raise funds for the Bobby Moore Foundation, a part of Cancer Research UK dedicated to research into bowel cancer. The premise is simple; in exchange for a donation to the charity, staff were invited to wear the shirt of their favourite team.

With a number of sports supporters working with us, it was no surprise to see a range of shirts on display, with particular highlights being a vintage Watford shirt, a Russian home kit and a Tottenham Hotspur replica shirt that had been signed by Chas n’ Dave!

The Bobby Moore Fund was set up in 1993, in memory of the former England Captain to fund pioneering, life-saving bowel cancer research. Since the fund was set up, mortality rates have fallen 30% and over £22 million has been raised for research.

In speaking of the day, Director Andy Parkin (pictured in a black Watford shirt) said:

“It’s a great idea and one we’ve been pleased to play a small part in. There are plenty of football supporters in the office who didn’t need much persuasion to come in and show off their team colours. We even let a couple of rugby supporters join in! It was a fun day and it’s good to know that by enjoying ourselves we have contributed to a worthwhile charity, that is important to a number of us here at The Window Film Company”
