The discovery of a mass of huge stones near Stonehenge has plunged the Somerset site firmly back into the limelight, with numerous theories as to the meaning of the stones discussed throughout the world. The site is of course one of the most famous landmarks on earth, and as such it came as no surprise to the team at The Window Film Company when they were asked to create a large scale print of the structure for use in a busy office.
The print was required for application across a series of three doors, with the aim being to liven up the previously uninspiring entrance to a number of storage units. Upon receipt of the brief, The Window Film Company were able to suggest printed digital wallpaper as the most appropriate solution. A long lasting and durable product, digital wallpaper benefits from a paste free application process which means it is suitable for application to almost any flat surface.
The wallpaper starts life as a plain white product and is printed to create a unique, bespoke decorative solution. On this occasion, a striking image of Stonehenge was supplied by the client, to appear across three large panels. The artwork was manipulated by The Window Film Company’s in house graphics and print team, who were able to ensure that the image flowed perfectly across the three panels – making careful adjustments to account for the gaps between the three doors.
With the artwork created and the proofs approved by the client, the three large pieces of wallpaper were printed on one of The Window Film Company’s large format UV printers. The combination of state of the art print technology, high quality ink and advanced printable media allowed for the creation of a perfect recreation of the image ahead of installation.
The wallpaper was fitted at a time and date agreed between the client and The Window Film Company’s operations team, with the timing chosen to ensure the minimum of disruption to what is a busy office. The work was carried out by a highly skilled, fully trained and vastly experienced fitting team, who were able to deliver a precision installation and a perfect finish. Once complete, the look and feel of that part of the office was instantly transformed, with previously neglected surfaces now boasting a bright, impressive appearance.
