Changes in the local landscape, building works or unsightly views can mean that windows aren’t enjoyed to their full potential, with the view to the exterior one of the normal benefits of glazing. This was the case for a property in Buckinghamshire, whose owners were tired of the uninspiring view from their kitchen. They turned to The Window Film Company for help.
After discussions with an Account Manager, the client agreed that Frostbrite window film would be the appropriate solution. A classic frosted film, once applied Frostbrite will give glass the appearance of acid etched glass, obscuring the view from both sides of the glazing. It has the added benefit of allowing excellent levels of natural light to pass through the glass, ensuring that the view is blocked without creating a dark or gloomy environment.
Crucially, Frostbrite frosted window film also provides an excellent surface upon which to print and in this project, it was this option that was to be a key component. The client’s plan was to print an attractive countryside scene onto the film, delivering the illusion of a magnificent view over trees and green rolling hills.
With the artwork received, The Window Film Company’s graphics team set about creating the graphics ahead of printing. The most important part of the preparation process was to ensure that the view flowed perfectly across the five windows that were to display the film, recreating as realistic a view as possible. A proof was created and approved by the client, after which the film was printed on state of the art UV printer. Each panel was hen hand finished to ensure that each of the five panels was perfect and ready for installation.
The fitting was carried out by one of The Window Film Company’s expert teams of installers. Operating nationwide, each fitting team is experienced in fitting in virtually any environment with a full appreciation of the needs of each and every client. The film was fitted to the internal side of the glazing (this is always recommended wherever possible) and once complete, the film immediately transformed the look and feel of the room.
Gone was the dull, uninspiring view and in its place was a bright, vibrant countryside scene that gave the room a completely new feel and ambience.
This installation was in a residential setting, but serves to illustrate the wide range of results that can be achieved with window film. Printed film can be used in retail, industrial and office environments to add branding, advertising or decorative elements to glazing, with a wide range of film types and printing options available to ensure that your vision is brought to life.
Whatever your premises and wherever your location, The Window Film Company can help transform your glass for the better.
