The Window Film Company was approached on behalf of a homeowner, whose residence was in an exclusive part of London. The property benefitted from a number of large windows, but also housed a range of valuable pieces of artwork, furniture and belongings, so the owner was understandably keen to guard against fading.
The fading process is caused by three main factors; heat, visible light and UV light. The biggest contributing factor is the UV light, and by blocking this, window film is able to significantly slow down the fading process. The Window Film Company’s reflective range of solar control films will control both heat and UV rays, but after discussions with the client, it was understood that a product with limited or no impact on the appearance of the glass was sought.
With this in mind, it was agreed that The Window Film Company’s specialist Clear UV product would be the best solution. Often referred to as museum film, Clear UV will block 99.8% of UV light, serving to dramatically reduce the impact of fading. The clear nature of the film means that when it is installed, it is almost completely invisible to the naked eye. For this reason, Clear UV film is hugely popular in retail environments and other locations where fading is an issue but an uninterrupted view through glazing is paramount.
This job required the installation of film to 60 windows throughout the property, and this was undertaken by one of The Window Film Company’s qualified and experienced fitting teams. Operating nationwide, each team has the skills and experience to fit film to a consistently exceptional standard, whatever the size or location of the job. Each panel of film was hand cut and finished on site to ensure a perfect fit, delivering an imperceptible yet highly effective barrier to fading.
The job complete, the homeowner could relax in the knowledge that the unwanted effects of fading would be kept to a minimum without sacrificing the view or the pleasing aesthetic to the exterior of the property.
