GLARE? DON'T DESPAIR!

Jan 02 2015

Cold but bright days are among of the highlights of any winter season, but whilst bright sunlight is always welcome, it can result in unwanted side effects. One of the most common issues is glare, a problem for which window film is the ideal solution.

The low lying nature of the winter sun means that glare can be a real problem at this time of year, with bright sunlight making it hard to read comfortably or to focus on screens. Blinds or curtains are often used to solve the issue, but are used at the expense of natural light and any view to the outside. Specialist window film will reduce the glare immediately, whilst also allowing good levels of natural light to pass through the glass and maintaining the view to the exterior.

Available in a range of grades and finishes, each film has a different performance level and aesthetic appearance, allowing for a choice of film that will not only deliver the most suitable level of glare protection, but will also suit both the internal and external appearance of your premises.

Window film can reduce glare by up to 95% and is effective immediately once installed. It’s also more cost effective than the more traditional alternatives such as blinds or curtains, so as well as maintaining your view and ensuring you continue to benefit from natural light, with an application of anti-glare window film, you’ll also enjoy a practical and economical solution.

In addition to glare protection, window film will also deliver a number of other benefits. Most films stocked and installed by The Window Film Company will filter out up to 99.9% of the sun’s potentially harmful UV rays. It is these rays that are the biggest contributing factor when it comes to fading, so an application of film will help protect any furnishings, upholstery or equipment from sun damage. By filtering out UV rays, window film also protects skin from the harmful solar elements all year round.

Anti-glare film can also be applied in conjunction with other window films, allowing for the incorporation of an added layer of safety or security, privacy or solar control. The film is usually fitted to the inside of the glass, but external grade films are available – these options can all be discussed with one of The Window Film Company’s highly trained Account Managers.

A nationwide installation service means that no matter where you are in the Country, one of our experienced fitting teams can install the film for you, ensuring piece of mind, a quality finish and the ability to enjoy the light and views that your windows provide, without the unpleasant side effects of glare.
