WALLPAPER FOR WATFORD FC

Aug 07 2015

With Watford FC securing promotion to the Premier League, the club has been busy making sure that the team is ready to mount a challenge in one of the toughest divisions in the world. The Hertfordshire based club have also been ensuring that all is of a suitable standard behind the scenes too and The Window Film Company are proud to have played a helping hand.

Having printed and installed a range of colour graphics at the club’s Vicarage Road Stadium and London Colney training round, The Window Film Company were asked to replace one of the installations with newly created graphics, reflecting their recently attained Premier league status.

The graphics in question formed a large feature at one end of the main hall at the training complex. Spanning over 7 metres, the dominating feature was created from digital wallpaper and had originally been installed ahead of the previous season. The first part of the project saw the existing wallpaper removed and the wall underneath prepared for the application of the updated artwork. The installation was at a considerable height above ground level, so specialist access equipment was required to carry out the work.

The new graphics, featuring the clubs new kits as well as Premier League branding were printed using top of the range flat-bed printers by The Window Film Company’s in-house graphics and print team. Each panel was carefully checked and trimmed by hand ahead of installation, with nine large pieces created in total.

The club had set a clear deadline for the completion of the installation, with the work to be done ahead of the playing staff and management returning for pre-season training. The Window Film Company’s dedicated operations team have responsibility for organising timings and logistics and after liaising with staff from the club, were able to arrange a suitable time for the work to take place.

Due to overhanging lights and other obstacles, the installation process was not straightforward, with great care and attention paid to the correct positioning of the appropriate access equipment. Time was taken to install each panel perfectly, ensuring that the design ran smoothly across the entirety of the wall.

Once complete, the wallpaper formed an impressive looking display, giving the complex a professional, impressive and inspiring atmosphere for the players and staff to operate in.
