KEEP COOL WITH CLIMATE

Whilst it’s generally accepted that the world seems to be a better place on sunny days, the build-up of heat that accompanies bright days can cause issues, especially in commercial properties with large windows.

Windows allow the sun’s energy to pass into premises and over the course of long summer days the build-up of heat can result in uncomfortable working conditions. His was the case for a Bedfordshire based company. Their Biggleswade premises benefitted from large windows, affording staff a great view and an enjoyable level of natural light. Heat however, was an issue.

The Company approached The Window Film Company for a solution.

The brief was a simple one – an effective solar control solution that didn’t restrict the view out of the building, didn’t have a negative impact on the amount of natural light and had an external appearance that was in keeping with the existing aesthetic feel of the property.

The enquiry was handled by a dedicated Account manager who was able to discuss the ranges of film available, their appearance, performance and suitability. Ultimately it was decided that Climate 50 would be the most suitable film. The Climate range of films are a premium product that offer superb solar protection, whilst delivering high levels of light transmission and a more neutral appearance when installed onto glass.

Climate 50 rejects up to 62% of solar energy, preventing the steady build-up of heat throughout the day, ensuring a temperate, comfortable environment. It also cuts out up to 43% of glare, cutting down on eye strain and making it more comfortable to focus on colleagues, screens or machinery. Once installed, Climate 50 will also block out up to 99% of the sun’s harmful UV rays, helping to fight against fading.

The film delivers the benefits of solar protection, glare reduction and fade mitigation, whilst maintaining a view out through the glass and allowing a high level of natural light transmission, maintaining the benefits of large windows. The film was applied to ten large windows at the site by one of The Window Film Company’s expert fitting teams, who delivered a perfect installation in a quick and efficient fashion.

The finished product saw the windows take on a sleek, attractive appearance, with the internal environment becoming instantaneously more comfortable, allowing staff to enjoy the bright summer sunshine without overheating.
