The Window Film Company were contacted by a shop in the pretty seaside town of Whitstable. The shop enjoyed a wonderful location near the coast but with the sun shining on their large windows, their stock was at permanent risk from fading. The suns UV rays are the main contributing factor to fading, with the other two issues being light and heat.
An application of window film will provide immediate and effective results. Reflective window films are traditionally used for solar control issues, but despite their high performance levels, the mirrored appearance makes them unsuitable for use on shop-fronts as they block the view. To combat this issue, The Window Film Company offers a range of advanced window films that offer high performance levels with a more neutral appearance.
After contacting The Window Film Company for advice, it was agreed that the best film for this situation should be Climate Ultra. Part of the premium Climate range of films, once installed it rejects over 99% of the sun’s harmful rays, immediately serving to slow down the fading process and protecting the stock and furnishings inside the shop. The film also provides an element of solar control, rejecting up to 43% of solar energy, helping to maintain a moderate and enjoyable temperature for staff and visitors to the shop. By reducing the excess heat, the fading process is slowed down further still.
This particular shop front featured two elegant, curved windows, each 1.5 metres square. Despite the curvature of the glass, one of The Window Film Company’s fitting team were able to call upon their years of experience and training to deliver a perfect installation, leaving passers-by none the wiser to the presence of the film and the shop owners to enjoy the benefits of their newly protected stock.
