HAPPY TO BE IN THE DOG HOUSE...

The Window Film Company are proud to be supporters of the Chilterns Dog Rescue Society, and with the charity celebrating its 50th year, it is an exciting and important time to be involved.

With its fair share of dog owners, The Window Film Company are delighted to lend their support to the Society, who are currently working hard towards realising their dream of a brand new headquarters.

The Buckinghamshire based Society find homes for between 300-400 dogs each year, matching owners with dogs who have arrived in their care for a variety of reasons.  Dogs have an average stay of 3-4 weeks with the Society, where they are cared for by a team of ten specialist staff. Each dog that arrives with the Society is cared for and trained depending on the individual needs of that particular animal, before being matched with new owners and rehoused.

The Society is a charitable organisation, with no external funding – it operates solely using money from legacies and other donations. After years of hard work the money is now in place for the Society to realise their ambitious dream for a new home.

The plan is to demolish the existing buildings and replace them with bigger state of the art facilities, enabling the Society to provide even greater levels of care for the dogs they temporarily house. The new facility will feature 40 kennels, with each one comfortably bigger than official guidelines require. The facility will also boast a purpose built vets room, a food preparation room as well as grooming and laundry facilities. The development will also feature three reception areas, allowing dogs to be both checked in and out of the facility in comfortable surroundings.

The new facilities will be built with the environment in mind, and will employ features that include a rainwater recycling system. It is hoped that work will be well underway on the project by 2014.

With the number of dogs given up by their owners continuing to increase, the work done by charities such as the Chilterns Dog rescue Society is more valuable than ever. With their work funded solely by charitable donations, The Window Film Company are proud to be supporting such a great cause. Updates will appear here as the project progresses.
