MAGNIFICENT MANIFESTATION

Glass manifestation is a legal requirement in public buildings with the law dictating that full height glass should be made visible, thus guarding against accidents. Whilst the law is clear, manifestation can take many forms, and The Window Film Company is a specialist supplier and installer of manifestation for glass in all its guises.

The law states that when required, glass manifestation should appear at certain heights and should be of a minimum size. For more details about the legislation, please visit our dedicated page. There is however no restriction on how the manifestation should appear, making it possible for clients to use logos, images and other designs to form their glass manifestation.

As well as providing a design feature, manifestation can also be combined to provide privacy and this was the route explored by a client for their offices in Oxford. Discussions revealed that the customer wanted a mixture of functionality and design, a solution to meet manifestation and privacy needs as well as adding a bespoke design element to their glass.

Frostbrite frosted window film is a popular choice for manifestation, the frosted appearance ensures it provides the necessary contrast to meet manifestation legislation, whilst the opaque nature means it also provides an element of privacy without sacrificing natural light. On this
occasion it was decided that there should be two large plain bands of Frostbrite frosted film, with two strips of bespoke graphics.

The graphics were provided by the client and following a thorough proofing process were computer cut from Frostbrite frosted film. The graphics and the frosted bands were then fitted on site by a team of expert installers, ensuring a perfect finish. The final result is a professional and eye-catching installation, with the solid bands providing privacy and meeting manifestation legislation, with the bespoke graphics providing an extra level of interest – a worthwhile final flourish.
