STATE OF THE ART FILM FOR STATE OF THE ART FACILITY

As part of the creation of a state of the art testing facility in London, a range of window films and associated products were required. The job involved the print, supply and installation of corporate branding elements and decorative features to a range of surfaces and The Window Film Company were engaged to help.

With the extensive facility still under construction, representatives from The Window Film Company visited the site to carry out a survey and to get a full understanding of what was required. With a range of different surfaces requiring coverage, it was apparent that a number of different products and methods were going to be required to achieve the desired finish.

There are numerous glass partitions throughout the facility and each of these required customisation. The client had a specific requirement in this area, with a need for the glass to take on a coloured appearance without blocking vision. The Window Film Company’s range of rainbow film provides this exact effect, the vivid colouring changing the appearance of the glass, with the transparent nature allowing for high light transmission and maintaining the two-way view.

These panels required further customisation, with each partition to feature text detailing the name of the room. The solution in this case was to computer cut the lettering from white vinyl. The vinyl could then be applied to the glass, the white text standing out nicely against the newly applied coloured film.

Several large walls required an application of full colour graphics. The client was able to provide high resolution artwork, which was developed by The Window Film Company’s in-house graphics team to match the specific effect required. With the graphics manipulated to give the exact finish specified, the artwork was printed onto matt vinyl using a wide format UV printer, the state of the art printer delivering a perfect, crisp and vivid finish.

Elsewhere in the building it was agreed that printed wallpaper would be the best solution for some sections of wall. The nature of printed wallpaper means it can be applied to virtually any smooth, flat surface and with top of the range print facilities, The Window Film Company are able to produce bespoke panels, featuring the image or design of the clients choosing. Printed wallpaper is tough and durable making it a perfect choice for application to high traffic locations such as reception areas.

Before the work commenced, each aspect of the job was carefully examined and costed, allowing The Window Film Company to provide a full and accurate quote. Once agreed, each graphical element was fully proofed and advice about film type and appearance provided at each stage. This collaborative approach is The Window Film Company’s standard practice, the constant two way communication ensuring that the job is completed to the highest possible standard, every time.

With designs agreed, printed and cut, the film was fitted by one of The Window Film Company’s specialist installation teams over a period of days, with the times and dates agreed by the Operations Team, a team dedicated to organising installation dates and logistics.

This was an exciting project to be involved in, with the window film elements providing a key part of what is an impressive facility.
