With solar film applied onto the glass, you can still see out during the day as normal. The film just puts a blue tint onto the glass from the inside. An added benefit of this type of window film is that it will stop people seeing in and give you an element of privacy.

If your building has air conditioning, with window film applied to the existing glass, you can reduce the need for it. Since the solar control film reduces the heat before it has chance to enter the building, if the aircon does have to be on, it will not have to work as hard to maintain the required temperature. If it is not working as hard, then the cost of running the airconditioning will not be as high, which in turn can result in energy savings.
