PRINT ON FROST FOR MAGNIFICENT MANIFESTATION

The Window Film Company uses high quality window film and state of the art printing and cutting technology to deliver stylish, eye-catching bespoke solutions for glass. This project involved the creation of a stunning custom designed manifestation for an office in London.

Manifestation markings are required for one simple reason – to make glass visible. Without manifestation, large expanses of glazing such as glass partitions and full-length glass doors can be difficult to see, meaning there is the real possibility of painful and damaging accidents. Therefore, Building Regulations state that markings must be present on specific types of glass.

The regulations dictate that the markings must be visible at specific points on the glass, must provide a visual contrast with the background and must be of a minimum size. While these requirements are a legal necessity, they also provide an opportunity for a stylish upgrade for glass.

For this project, the client supplied artwork to The Window Film Company, which was printed in brilliant white ink onto Frostbrite frosted window film.

Frostbrite frosted film is an excellent choice for manifestation as it provides the necessary contrast with the background. As the name suggests, the film gives standard glass the classic appearance of frosted or acid etched glass. It can also be computer cut to create patterns or logos, or as in this case, it can be printed onto.

Each panel was printed by The Window Film Company’s print and graphics team, before being computer cut to the exact sizes required and installed by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert fitters.

Once in place, the bands of window film met manifestation requirements in a stylish and professional looking way, while also adding an extra element of decorative style to the glazing. The film also served to deliver an element of privacy; the positioning of the film blocking the view through the central part of the partitions and doors.
