BEATING HEAT, REDUCING GLARE AND FIGHTING FADING

Solar Control window film from The Window Film Company delivers valuable year-round benefits, including heat reduction during warmer weather, glare reduction and protection from potentially harmful UV rays – the biggest single contributing factor to fading.

The film is available in a range of finishes, with the majority of the products having a mirrored or reflective daytime external appearance, delivering effective mitigation for glass related issues without giving up the daytime view from the inside out, or sacrificing high levels of natural light.

 

This project required the removal of existing film and replacing it with The Window Film Company’s High Reflective Silver window film, with the film applied to just under 100 roof panels throughout a large facility in Nottingham.

The project was undertaken by a team of The Window Film Company’s fully trained and experienced installers, who completed the work using access equipment, allowing them to reach the glazing that was almost 7 metres above ground level.

With the old film removed and the new, high performance window film installed, the impact was immediate.

The film delivers excess heat reduction of up to 78%, with the external reflective appearance of the film serving to bounce away a percentage of the sun’s heat before it can pass through the glass and add to the internal temperature.

While excess heat isn’t a year-round problem; glare is. The changing angle of the sun can result in sunlight streaming through glass, often making it difficult to focus or concentrate on screens, machinery, paperwork or colleagues. High Reflective Silver from The Window Film Company will reduce glare by up to 79%.

In addition, this high performance window film will also block up to 99% of the sun’s potentially harmful UV rays. UV is the biggest single contributing factor to fading, so by clocking out the majority of these rays, the fading process is slowed down dramatically.
