KEEPING THE CORNER COOL

The Window Film company is proud to have completed another solar control window film installation at a branch of successful retailer Pets Corner.

Premises with large glass frontages can be popular and desirable for a number of reasons; especially for retailers. A glass expanse at the front of the store can not only look super stylish, but it also provides passers-by and potential visitors with a view into the store so they can see what’s on offer.

Large runs of glass can also create challenges, however. Left unchecked, heat can quickly build up inside any property with large windows, while fading can also be an issue – caused by a combination of heat, light and UV, it can be a particular problem for shops and retail outlets.

Having already helped out with 28 other Pets Corner stores, The Window Film Company was approached for a solution for these issues at a new store in Chessington. As with previous projects, a window film was required that would provide solar control to ensure a manageable internal temperature, glare reduction and UV protection to help fight the effect of fading.

It was agreed that the film to be used would be Climate 70; a film that has been designed to deliver a limited aesthetic impact while providing high levels of performance. The film has a light reflective appearance that serves to reflect away up to 45% of excess heat, while still allowing a clear view in through the glass. Once in place, the film also reduces glare by over 20% and blocks 99% of UV rays – the biggest single contributing factor to fading.

The film was applied by a team of The Window Film Company’s highly skilled installers to 37 panes of various sizes, delivering an immediately effective and aesthetically pleasing and suitable finish.
