LOCAL VISIT IS JUST THE TONIC

Jan 13 2017

A number of The Window Film Company team were treated to a night by “campfire” recently as they enjoyed a tour of the local Puddingstone gin distillery.

The event was organised after The Window Film Company donated funds to a successful crowdfunding campaign, which in turn resulted in the launch of the distillery in November 2016. The enterprise is the brainchild of Ben and Kate Marston, who welcomed 12 members of Window Film Company staff to their Hertfordshire premises in January.

The evening featured a fascinating discussion on the history and evolution of gin, with plenty of opportunities for tasting the myriad of different styles and types of the drink that are available across the world.  There was also a demonstration of the distilling process and an absorbing explanation as to how the team at Puddingstone created their masterpiece; “Campfire gin”.

The team from The Window Film Company were captivated throughout, as colleague Sophie Spicer explained:

“We enjoyed a fabulous evening with Ben and Kate. It was great to see how well the launch has gone and to experience first-hand the success of a fellow local business. I had no idea how in depth the process of choosing and experimenting with ingredients was and it was brilliant to hear of the trials and tribulations that the team experienced to get their product to taste exactly how they wanted. It was no surprise that the gin and tonic they served wasn’t bad, either!”

The Puddlestone distillery is based near Tring in Hertfordshire and is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays. For more information, please visit www.puddingstonedistillery.com
