DOGS TRUST DELIGHT

Jul 15 2016

Founded in 1891, the Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. To ensure that the organisation continues to deliver the best possible help and support, the Evesham branch of the charity underwent a complete rebuild before reopening in July 2016. As part of the work, The Window Film Company supplied and installed custom graphics and bespoke manifestation.

Manifestation is required by law on glass of a certain size. It is designed to make the glass visible and must be positioned at specific points on the glazing. Whilst there is a minimum size, there is no regulation that dictates how the manifestation should appear, other than providing the necessary contrast between it and the background.

For this project, The Window Film Company created manifestation created using a custom created dog design. Each dog was cut from Frostbrite frosted film – a popular choice for manifestation due to its stylish appearance. Over 12 linear metres of manifestation were created and installed by one of The Window Film Company’s fully trained fitting teams.

The second part of the project required the application of window film to deliver privacy. Once again, Frostbrite was the selected product. When applied, the frosted film gives glass the appearance of acid etched or sandblasted glass, blocking the view from both sides whilst still letting high levels of natural light to pass through the glass.

Frostbrite also provides an excellent surface on which to print, and to give the glass a bespoke decorative twist, the film was printed to feature the same dog motifs that were used to create the manifestation.

When installed, both window film elements served to meet legislative and practical requirements, whilst also adding a playful yet professional decorative flourish to the glass.
